MRH Auxiliary Celebrates Community Support Ahead of Annual Bazaar

Posted 10/06/26 (Tue)

MOBRIDGE, S.D. – Each year, countless hours of volunteering, homemade baked goods, donated baskets, raffle ticket purchases and generous contributions come together through the MRH Auxiliary to support patient care at Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics (MRH&C).

As the Auxiliary prepares for its annual Fall Festival & Bazaar, we want to first say thank you to the many people who have supported our fundraisers throughout the years. From longtime Auxiliary members and community volunteers to local businesses, MRH&C employees, physicians, students and everyone who has attended an event or purchased a raffle ticket, your generosity continues to make a difference.

Most recently, that support helped the Auxiliary purchase a new vein finder for MRH&C’s Infusion Center. The handheld device uses near-infrared light to help clinical staff visualize veins beneath the skin, providing another tool to assist with vein assessment and IV access. For patients who regularly receive infusions or have difficult-to-locate veins, technology like this can help staff identify potential access sites before an IV is placed.

The vein finder joins a long list of equipment and projects made possible through Auxiliary fundraising. Past purchases have included infusion recliners, ambulance IV pumps, a LIFEPAK monitor/defibrillator, a Hoyer lift, X-ray equipment and new infant hearing screening equipment.

These purchases are possible because of hundreds of individual acts of generosity. Last year, community members donated baked goods, casseroles, baskets, their talents and countless volunteer hours, alongside MRH&C staff and physicians who also contributed baskets, raffle prizes and their time. Every contribution, large or small, becomes part of something much bigger.

This year’s MRH Auxiliary Fall Festival & Bazaar will be held Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at Scherr Howe Event Center, with donation drop-off beginning at 8 a.m. Donations of baked goods, pies, cakes, frozen soups and casseroles, and raffle baskets are welcome, as are new volunteers. Basket drawings begin at 1:30 p.m.

For an early look at some of this year’s baskets, visit the Auxiliary booth at the Mobridge Chamber Craft Fair on October 10, where basket and Physicians’ Raffle tickets will also be available.

To everyone who has helped make our fundraisers a success: thank you for continuing to invest in local healthcare and the patients we serve.
