Per Requested Need - Medication Aide - 09/09/2024

Prairie Sunset Village - Assisted Living Center has an opening for a PRN (Per Requested Need), Med Aide/Nursing Assistant. Must be able to work a variety of shifts, since shifts will be based on scheduling need and the ability of the applicant to work shifts.  At this time there are no guaranteed hours or shifts.

The Part Time Med Aide/Nursing Assistant will work regularly scheduled PM shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.  The part time position is scheduled no less than 24 hours per week.

Applicants must be cheerful, compassionate and enthusiastic in the manner in which they work with our residents.  Will work to develop a positive raport with residents, guests and families in the daily performance of the job.

We prefer someone who is already certified as a Med Aide, but could possibly train an applicant with an excellent work history and viable experience, who are not currently Med Aide certified. 

The Med Aide-Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing care for residents (a.k.a. patients/clients) in a safe and efficient manner. Works cooperatively with all levels of staff employed within this facility in a professional manner at all times. Will monitor and document each resident's medication is taken according to medical orders. Will also check vital signs, and operate a variety of medical equipment in the performance of daily job duties.

Follow, support and enforce all policies set forth from Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics, complying with all standards, principles and procedures set forth in nursing procedure manuals.

Possess the knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in assisting residents with daily care.

This position does require some lifting, bending and stooping as well as near acuity of vision for reading medication orders, charting and operation of equipment.

Experience in a healthcare environment, especially working with geriatric clientelle is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with a verifiable stable work history.
