Dietary Cook – Full-Time
Mobridge Regional Hospital is seeking a full-time Cook to join our Dietary Department. Shifts vary between early morning (5:30–6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) and midday (11:00–11:30 AM to 7:00 PM), including rotating weekends and holidays.
Position Overview:
This role is responsible for preparing and serving meals, snacks, and beverages in accordance with dietary guidelines and patient/resident needs. The position also ensures high standards of food quality, sanitation, and customer service for patients, residents, staff, and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals following prescribed diets and menus
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards
- Assist with tray setup, food service, and dishwashing
- Monitor food temperatures and proper storage/handling
- Support patients and staff with menu needs and special requests
- Operate cafeteria service line and payment system
- Stock and rotate food supplies
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Basic math ability
- Ability to follow dietary guidelines and detailed instructions
- Team-oriented with a compassionate, customer-focused approach
Work Environment:
Fast-paced setting with frequent interaction with patients, staff, and visitors. Requires standing, lifting, and working in a kitchen environment with heat and equipment.
