Howard (Clay) Harper, MD grew up in Mobile, Alabama where he attended University Military School. He attended Auburn University for his undergraduate degree in Zoology. While at Auburn, he met his wife, Jennifer. After college, he attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He then completed his surgical residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Harper practiced general and vascular surgery at Surgical Clinic, PC in Opelika, Alabama for 22 years. He is board certified in general surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Harper has held specialty certifications in wound care and venous and lymphatic medicine as well. He and Jennifer have 2 boys who are students at Auburn University. Dr. Harper loves hunting and fishing, spending time with his family and friends and his dog, Tito. They have a home in Mobridge and look forward to serving our community.
