Healthy Futures Capital Campaign

Why Expand?

Imagine a cancer patient, who must travel over 100 miles for chemotherapy treatment currently, being able to get high quality care 10-20 minutes away from his or her home. It makes a huge difference for that patient to be able to continue living at home, surrounded by loved ones, as they battle a life-threatening disease.

Improving access to more specialty services, like chemotherapy, is one of the main reasons Mobridge Regional Health Care Foundation embarked the Healthy Futures Capital Campaign in October 2023. As the only hospital within 100 miles, Mobridge Regional Hospital provides critical access to healthcare for over 18,000 South Dakotans living in rural and frontier communities. This project will increase our current footprint by about 50% and includes key elements that allow for additional services, like a pharmacy equipped with a chemotherapy-ready hood room.

Why Renovate?

Every year, our talented medical staff work hard to ensure whatever their patients are facing, from life-threatening traumas to dangerous pregnancy complications, they receive excellent care and are given the best possible chance for positive health outcomes. These dedicated health professionals have been providing 21st century level care in a 20th century facility with limitations that have a big impact on current patients. Over 65 years old, the hospital's infrastructure is no longer able to keep up with the demands and changing landscape of healthcare and our patient population.

In order to ensure that future generations have the care they need, this capital project will also include the renovation of half of Mobridge Regional Hospital and Mobridge Medical Clinic's existing footprint. Once complete, we'll have a new surgery suite and operating room equipped with the tools and space our team needs for additional surgeries, an infusion center that will be able to offer chemotherapy on-site, and enough clinic space for advanced specialty services to do outreach from our location.
