Welcome to the MRHC Foundation!
For over 18,000 rural and frontier residents
in South Dakota, we're it.
With larger hospitals over 100 miles away, the dedicated medical and support staff at Mobridge Regional Hospital are often the only line of defense for the high risk communities they serve. Whether it's the emergency delivery of a one pound baby or responding to a cardiac emergency, our team is here 24/7 365 to care for our rural and frontier patients.
The communities we serve, both on and off tribal lands, struggle with challenges common across rural America, including:
- Low incomes
- Limited economic opportunities
- High substance abuse rates
- Unaddressed generational trauma
Still, we love it here. We have a rich, vibrant history, a wealth of highly skilled healthcare professionals, and a lot of other strengths we are leveraging to combat injury and disease in the region and to address related social determinants of health.
How We Work
As an independent nonprofit, Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics' volunteer-run Board of Directors has the flexibility to make decisions in the best interests of our local communities. These community leaders lean on our bi-annual Community Health Needs Assessment to identify the most impactful ways we can build on the hospital's mission--and those needs are reflected in the current building and renovation project and other activites of the Board.
Since 1991, our goal at the Mobridge Regional Health Care Foundation has been to support our local healthcare heroes and the rural patients they serve. Whether through capital projects, staff recruitment, medical training, or local youth scholarships, the Board, staff, and donors of Mobridge Regional Health Care Foundation all work together to ensure Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics is one of America's finest rural healthcare providers for residents today and tomorrow.
