Human Resources Director

Human Resource Director is responsible for providing leadership to the Human Resource functions throughout the facility. This includes planning, directing, and coordinating human resource functions to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee communications, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties
- Administer and maintain all HR systems, including compensation, benefits, performance reviews, education, and payroll.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment: identify vacancies, advertise, screen candidates, conduct reference and background checks, and assist with hiring and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate personnel records, process employment changes, and ensure compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.
- Develop and update job descriptions, HR policies, and procedures; advise management on policy interpretation, EEO, and workplace conduct.
- Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations; conduct exit interviews and investigate workplace incidents.
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation, training, and development programs to support engagement, safety, and organizational growth.
- Analyze and recommend compensation, benefits, and vendor options to ensure competitive and compliant programs.
- Direct and coordinate HR operations related to staffing, compensation, employee relations, and performance management.
- Prepare and manage HR budget, reports, and surveys (e.g., EEOC, salary surveys, 550 reports).
- Represent the organization in HR-related hearings, audits, and investigations; serve as liaison between employees and management.
- Lead and participate in employee relations and special HR projects as assigned.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required. Bachelors in Management and/or Human Resources preferred.
Experience: Previous management or human resources experience not required but strongly preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Certification /Licenses: None required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proven management skills, high energy level, and a positive attitude are essential. Candidate must have strong interpersonal, leadership, team building, analytical, planning, project management, and decision-making capabilities to ensure effective and efficient operation of the human resource functions. Has the ability to set priorities, identify and resolve problems effectively and efficiently. Has excellent communication and organizational skills for managing workflow and business operations etc. Demonstrates reliability, maintains confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively with all parts of organization including prospective employees, current employees, management, vendors, and other internal and external customers. Good speaking skills to communicate clearly with employees over the phone, in person, and via written communications. Works effectively with leadership and employees within a complex medical center. A positive role model for all employees. Actively participates in the community as an advocate and a positive professional representative of the organization.
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Effort: Work requires considerable variety of fairly steady active physical exertion with some and/or continuous standing or walking.
