Advanced EMTs, EMT-Is as well as EMT-Bs 03/15/2024

Mobridge Regional Hospital & Clinics currently has openings for PRN (Per Requested Need) and Full Time personnel for our rural Emergency Medical Service.  Will consider applicants with certification/licensure at any level of EMT training including Basic, Intermediate, Advanced or Medic level.

Those applicants with Basic/Intermediate and Advanced lefel of education can work full time as long as they are working towards their Paramedic Certification.  The specific job duties will depend on the skills and availability of the person.

For PRN staff there are no guaranteed hours or shifts, but employer is willing to work around applicants scheduling desire for on-call hours.

Any time called back for duty is paid at time and a half of basic wage, which is determined based on qualifications and experience.

All positions require Certification/Licensure with the State of South Dakota, State Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners and National Certification if required by state licensure boards.  Must also possess certification in CPR, PEPP, PALS, PHTLS, and ACLS (or obtain as soon as possible following employment.

All positions require a valid drivers license with a driving record that falls within company policy, as well as the ability to perform heavy lifting, sometimes over varied terrain and in sometimes negative weather conditions.

Applicants must have the ability to carry out effective principals of emergency medical services within the scope of  their specific certification/licensure. Must be able to communicate effectively under sometimesvery stressful situations.

As part of the job, will perform focused history and exam on trauma patients in emergency situations. Persons applying for this position must be able to observe the scene and determine the mechanism of the injury as well as the best response and appropriate course of action. Be able to work within the scope of licensure. Will operate a variety of medical equipment.  

This position requires attention to detail and accurate documentation.  All EMS staff are required to attend continued compentency training learning new advanced practices and skills.
